About Me

Hello!

I’m Ann, and I’ve been learning and working in digital experience and human-computer interaction spaces since I began my degrees at Michigan State University in 2018. Before college, I lived in the Upper Peninsula in the town where I was born, where I developed my deep love for Lake Superior, appreciation for evergreens of all kinds, and learned more than I ever needed to know about mining copper!

With my Bachelor’s degrees in Experience Architecture (an interdisciplinary program encompassing Rhetoric & Leadership, Graphic Design, and Coding) and Psychology, I approach my work with a strong foundation of technical communication supported by an understanding of underlying psychological principles.

I truly believe that no amount of time, money, or effort could remove the ‘human aspect’ from technology – as such, seeing myself as a steward of the systems I work on is an important part of my approach. Whether it is designing data transfer pathways to protect PII, ensuring interactive experiences meet accessibility standards, or prioritizing documentation so critical work context is preserved, I do my best to ensure that my efforts center the people involved, whether they be end users, business partners, or software developers.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my partner and our two cats. My yoga and meditation practice keeps me grounded and grateful, and my love of video games keeps me always playing something new! I am also an artist – crochet, knitting, stained glass, sewing, and more – so my creative practice is an essential part of my everyday life.
